anthropologie (finally) launches bhldn
The rumors are true, everyone. In case you haven't heard, Anthropologie launched BHLDN (pronounced "beholden"), its bridal/special event shop spin-off, today. From the looks of things, the focus is on the non-traditional bride (love!).
How gorgeous is all this stuff?
If I hadn't just gotten married, I'd be all over this for a wedding. Of course, I think I did a good job of being a non-traditional bride by wearing Anthropologie's Spinning Lace dress (aka, the Tracy Reese nougat classic lace frock). Patting myself on the back for being so on top of things over here (again).
All images from the BLHDN website.

Things that suck:: packing and moving
I found this picture on Flickr and the photographer's description was, "There are no words which adequately convey how much I hate moving house." I'll throw back a beer or three to that sentiment.
I say this in the midst of hastily posting a this post while surrounded by boxes and packing up my life. We're not moving far. Just a few blocks, actually. We bought a house (our first house- yay!) and I really am excited. But mostly right now, I just feel exhaustion from the past few weeks (holidays, wedding, etc) and dread for the next few days (moving). I'll be a happy camper (home owner?) on Sunday morning when I can kick back and relax with a cup of coffee in my new house (if I can find the coffee maker amongst the boxes).
But until then, I'll have limited internet access. I'll be posting on Twitter and Facebook, though, so catch up with me there. And also, you should check out this hilarious post about how dogs don't understand moving. My dogs are a drooling, freaking-out testament to that. Fortunately, they'll be at the pet resort for the bulk of the move.
So, have a good weekend, all! I'll catch you next week.

fashion news // cynthia rowley for roxy
In my dreams, I'm a SoCal surfer girl. I live in a beach bungalow. I awake to the sound of crashing waves and run (read: own) a little surf-inspired boutique/gallery just steps from the ocean. In real life, I live nowhere near the ocean, I awake to the sound of my snoring beagle and I run (read: am owned by) the corporate rat race. But a girl can dream. And a girl can chase her dreams, too, right? And until I finally catch them, I can at least dress the part of a SoCal surfer girl thanks to the surfer-girl-meets-girlie-girl Cynthia Rowley collection for Roxy.

PS- Once I do catch those dreams, I'll still awake to the sound of my snoring beagle because her foghorn of a snore will most definitely drown out even the loudest of ocean waves.
PPS- That ruffled, aqua dress? Consider it mine.

Rest in peace, Alexander McQueen
The fashion world (and the world at large) lost a great talent today when 40-year-old Alexander McQueen took his own life this morning in London. You can read the full story here.
Known for his theatrical, colorful designs, Alexander McQueen created collections admired by celebrities, socialites and fashion lovers everywhere. I thought I'd honor his memory with some pictures from his most recent collection:

Rest in peace, good sir. You and your creative talents will be truly missed. View Alexander McQueen's entire Spring 2010 RTW collection.
